We’re proud to shine a spotlight on one of our newest apprentices — Josh, a talented young bricklayer who’s already making a name for himself at Henley.
Earlier this year, Josh joined our team as part of our apprenticeship programme, and it’s been clear from day one that he has a natural ability and a strong work ethic. Last week, he put both to the test at the Guild of Bricklayers Yorkshire Regional Competition, held at Kirklees College, where he delivered a fantastic performance — just one point off first place for the ‘NEW TO COMPETITION’ category!!
Hosted at the Brunel Construction Centre, the competition brought together some of the most promising bricklaying students in the region. Each participant demonstrated remarkable precision, craftsmanship, and composure under pressure — and Josh was no exception. We’re incredibly proud of how he represented himself and the Henley team.

We’re deeply invested in developing the next generation of bricklayers. Our apprentices gain hands-on experience across both new build and heritage restoration projects, giving them a well-rounded skill set that will serve them for years to come.
Josh has made an incredible start to his career, and we’re excited to continue supporting his growth. From competitions to live project work, he’s proving he has what it takes — and we can’t wait to see him through to qualification and beyond.
