GRC Façade Installation at One Friary, Bristol
Henley Stone Specialists has completed the specialist GRC façade installation at One Friary, Temple Quay, Bristol, as part of the major redevelopment of the existing commercial building.
Appointed by Beard Construction, Henley delivered the supply and full installation of the new Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC) façade, working alongside specialist partners from within the wider Henley Construction Management Group.
Located directly opposite Bristol Temple Meads Station, the redevelopment has transformed the existing building into a modern Grade A office development, including the addition of three new floors and a completely new external façade.
Scope of Works
Henley Stone Specialists’ package included:
- Supply and installation of the GRC cladding panels
- Installation and coordination of associated brackets and support systems
- Façade installation and site coordination
- Integration with the existing structure and three new upper floors
- Coordination with BCM GRC, Smart Crosby International (SCI) and HZS Stainless Steel
The project demonstrates Henley’s ability to deliver complex GRC façade packages on major commercial refurbishment and redevelopment schemes.
Façade Design, Manufacture and Installation
One Friary also demonstrates the benefits of the wider Henley Construction Management Group working collaboratively on a single façade package.
Smart Crosby International (SCI) provided façade design and technical coordination, while HZS Stainless Steel manufactured the primary brackets, secondary steelwork, windposts and associated support components. Henley Stone Specialists then delivered the specialist façade installation on site.
More than two years of early engagement with Beard Construction and the specialist supply chain helped resolve design interfaces, buildability, procurement and installation requirements ahead of delivery.
This integrated approach provided continuity from façade design and engineering through manufacture to installation, helping reduce interfaces between the specialist packages.
Project Highlights
- 80,000 sq. ft. commercial redevelopment
- Approximately 60,000 sq. ft. of Grade A office accommodation
- Ground and six upper floors
- Three new floors added to the existing structure

Completed One Friary Redevelopment
The completed GRC façade has transformed the appearance of One Friary and forms a key part of the wider redevelopment of the existing building.
The project is a strong example of Henley Stone Specialists’ experience in GRC façade installation, particularly where new façade systems need to integrate with existing structures, extensions and complex support systems.
Working alongside Beard Construction, BCM GRC, SCI and HZS Stainless Steel, the project also demonstrates the value of early specialist involvement and coordinated design, manufacture and installation.
