Burberry Flagship Store – New Bond Street, London

Project Overview

Appointed to assist in the refurbishment of Burberry’s flagship store, with works recently completed at the prestigious New Bond Street location.

Situated in one of the world’s premier luxury shopping destinations, the 22,000 sqm store underwent a remarkable contemporary makeover. The project reinforces Burberry’s position as the leading modern British luxury brand, while respecting and preserving its rich heritage.

Materials & Methods

The store’s entire façade was rebuilt using Portland stone, complemented by granite plinths and paving to provide contrast and durability. To achieve the desired finish, the stone was sandblasted during manufacture for a refined texture, while on-site bush hammering was used where needed to create a fine-picked surface that added depth and character.

Architectural Impact

The craftsmanship elevated not only the aesthetic appeal of the building but also the visitor experience. The exposed first floor offers passers-by a glimpse into the luxury retail environment. At the same time, the minimalist Portland stone façade reflects and complements the open-plan interior, resulting in a cohesive and inviting architectural expression.
